Eid-Kabir 2025 Guidelines: Ilorin Committee Outlines Strict Safety Measures for Celebrations
The Eid committee in Ilorin has issued detailed guidelines to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration of Eid al-Adha (Eid-Kabir) 2025 in the Kwara State capital, Just Event Online TV reports.
Chairman Dr. A. A. Amuda addressed journalists on Wednesday, urging Muslim worshippers to comply with protocols to guarantee smooth prayer sessions and overall security during the festival, scheduled for Friday, 6 June 2025 . Key arrangements include:
Eid Ground Closure: All prayer activities must conclude by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, 5 June 2025 , to allow security teams time to prepare the venue.
Arrival Time: Worshippers must occupy their positions at the Eid ground by 8:00 a.m. on Friday . Parking Restrictions: Vehicles are permitted only in designated car parks, and no cars will be allowed entry into the prayer area after 8:00 a.m.
Traffic Control: Routes such as Unity Road (GTB/Jasse Junction), Stadium Road/New Yidi Junction, Muslim Cemetery Junction, and Asa Dam (Fossil Fuel Station) will be closed to vehicular traffic during the event.
Prohibited Activities: Hawking, begging, political/organisational banners, leaflets, megaphones, okadas (motorbikes), tricycles, and vehicles with spy plates will be banned from the premises. Additional directives from the committee:
Ablutions, urination, or defecation must occur in designated areas only.
Personal water (bottled or sachet) is prohibited; water stations will be provided.
Parents are advised to monitor children closely to prevent them from wandering.
Journalists must obtain accreditation from the Eid Committee to access the main prayer area.
Broken-down vehicles must be removed by Thursday; those left unattended will be towed at the owner's expense.
Dr. Amuda stressed that strict adherence to the guidelines is essential to uphold safety and decorum during the festival.
