Governor AbdulRazaq Mourns Bishop Emeritus Atoyebi, Honours His Legacy of Peace and Service
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has extended heartfelt condolences to the Christian community in the state following the death of Bishop Emeritus Ayo-Maria Atoyebi.
In a statement, the governor specifically acknowledged the loss to the Ilorin Catholic Diocese and the bishop's immediate family, describing his passing as the end of an era marked by ethical leadership, advocacy for peace, and unwavering commitment to the collective good of society.
Bishop Atoyebi, a revered figure in the Catholic Church, was celebrated for his dedication to fostering harmony and community welfare during his tenure. He says the late Emeritus Bishop was a father figure to all and an excellent torchbearer within the Church in Kwara State and Nigeria.
Governor prays for the repose of the soul of the Emeritus Bishop Ayo-Maria Atoyebi, asking the family to take solace in the life of positive impacts that he led.
He also prays that God gives the family the fortitude to bear the huge loss.
