Kwara Water Corporation to Temporarily Reduce Services for Agba Dam Maintenance

Following maintenance activities set to be carried out on Agba Dam Water Works by the Kwara State Water Corporation (KWWC) in Ilorin, the corporation will temporarily embark on skeletal services of the dam forthwith. The maintenance aims to improve the supply of potable water to the public.

The General Manager of the Corporation, Mr. Gana Makun, made this announcement during an inspection tour of the Agba-Dam Water Treatment Plant to assess the ongoing repairs. Makun emphasized that the reconstruction of the high-lift pump base and the high-lift pump panels, which were damaged due to electrical sparks, is necessary for the facility to pump water effectively.

He noted that, "the maintenance exercise, which commenced since Friday, 10th January 2025, is expected to last for about two (2) weeks, after which it will be fully operational, hopefully by early February, due to the nature and sensitivity of the work being carried out, especially, the high-lift pump base—situated above underground water compartment.

I therefore appeal to the affected members of the public within Ilorin Metropolis, to please bear with us following inconveniences these repairs might cause, as the maintenance exercise is mandatory." He added.
