Emir of Ilorin Celebrates Sultan of Sokoto's 68th Birthday, Hails His Dedication to Peace

According to news report from Voice of Nigeria, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muhammadu Sa'ad Abubakar, on the occasion of his 68th birthday.

Sulu-Gambari lauded the Sultan as a model of peaceful coexistence, uniting people from all tribes, religions, and social backgrounds across Nigeria. He emphasised that "Sultan Sa'ad Abubakar is undeniably a detribalised Nigerian."

This was conveyed in a congratulatory message released by the Emir's spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona.

The Emir also praised the Sultan for his leadership in promoting peace and reconciliation initiatives both within Nigeria and beyond, noting his role as a traditional ruler and a father figure to all.

Sulu-Gambari who extended the goodwill of the entire members of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council to the celebrant said: “We wish His Eminence, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammadu Sa'ad Abubakar CFR, many more years of laudable accomplishments on earth. We urge him to keep doing the things he loves most: building bridges of peace, tolerance and development across Nigeria.”

The Emir, therefore, enjoined family members, the Sokoto Emirate, the government and people of Sokoto State, friends and well-wishers to continue to support Sultan Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar with prayers for Almighty Allah to continue to strengthen and grant him more years of health and happiness on earth.
