NANS Condemns Murder of Kwara Health Tech Student
According to a disturbing news report from the Nigerian Tribune, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has strongly condemned the gruesome murder of 21-year-old Mojisola Awesu, a student of the Kwara State College of Health Technology.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Kano, NANS Senate President Mr Henry Okunomo called for a thorough investigation to bring justice to those responsible for this heinous crime.
The discovery of Mojisola's lifeless body at a refuse dump in the Aleniboro area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, has shocked and saddened the student community.
“We urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation, following all leads and ensuring that those responsible are brought to book.
“The silence of the authorities is deafening, and we will not stand idly by while the lives of Nigerian students are treated with such disregard.
“We call on the Kwara State Government to take concrete steps to address the growing insecurity and violence in the state, particularly against students. The safety and well-being of students must be prioritised.
“We stand in solidarity with Mojisola's family, friends, and the entire student community in Kwara. We will continue to demand justice and push for a safer Nigeria for all,” the statement partly read.
