Infrastructural Development and Social Welfare has Taken Top Chart as Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON Signs 2024 Budget.
CAPEX takes 61% of budget while recurrent takes 39% of the budget which has been christened budget of 'economic expansion and collective prosperity'.
Construction of roads, housing, health, education, negotiation for new minimum wage are all in focus.
Some of the new people-oriented projects that will commence after the govenor signed the 2024 budget are:
1. Establishment of Kwara State University of Education
2. Commencement of Ilorin Smart City Satellite Town, which will cover an area estimated at 18,000 hectares. This city is modelled after sustainable, green cities around the world, such as Washington DC.
3. Establishment of the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital.
4. Completion of the first phase of the Kwara's Industrial Park at Eiyenkorin.
5. MSMEs Support Funds.
6. Rehabilitation of Ilesha Baruba Waterworks and others elsewhere in the state.
7. Construction of statewide rural access roads through RAAMP.
8. Rehabilitation of Isanlu Isin Waterworks and extension of pipes.
9. Rehabilitation of Pampo waterworks and extension of pipes.
10. Construction of new clinic wards across the state.
11. Expansion of maternity unit at Civil Service Clinic.
12. Expansion of 13 hospitals across the state.
13. Construction of 250 housing units under the proposed mass housing scheme.
14. Construction of CBT Centres across the 3 Senatorial districts.
15. Wholesale curriculum revitalisation and training under KwaraLearn.
16. Payment of UBEC counterpart funds for 2022 and 2023.
17. Construction and rehabilitation of some sports facilities statewide.
18. Implementation of life-changing programmes which includes but not limited to;
I. Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE)
II. Livestock development centre at Lata
III. Special agroprocessing zone
IV. L-PRES project
