Coronation anniversaries: Emir of Ilorin rejoices with Olofa, Elese
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has rejoiced with two prominent traditional rulers in the state on the occasion of their coronation anniversaries.
They are; the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II who clocked 13 years on the ancestral throne of Offa kingdom as well as the Elese of Igbaja, Oba Ahmed Babalola Awuni Arepo II as he clocked 34 years on the stool of royalty.
This is contained in a congratulatory message to the two royal fathers issued by the Emir’s spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, on Wednesday.
While rejoicing with the paramount ruler of Offa kingdom, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari described Oba Esuwoye II as a trailblazer and architect of modern Offa Town through his outstanding contributions to the community and beyond, through his philantropical gestures as well as network of connections which has attracted landmark growths to the community in the areas of trade opportunities and infrastructural developments.
Speaking further, the Emir also applauded the exceptional contributions of the Elese of Igbaja, Oba Ahmed Babalola Awuni Arepo II to the peaceful coexistence of the inhabitants of Igbaja community and Ifelodun local government in general since his enthronement 34 years ago.
He also congratulated him on the attainment of 95years on earth stressing that old age and long reign on the throne is a special gift from Almighty Allah on His creatures.
On behalf of the entire members of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari said: “The duo of Oba Muhammadu Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II and Oba Ahmed Babalola Awuni Arepo II are highly distinguished Royal Majesties who have demonstrated high levels of commitment and dedications to growth, peace and security of their people and state at large.
“I pray that Almighty Allah will continue to guide and protect you in the course of steering the affairs of your respective domains.”
The Emir therefore appealed to the people of Offa and Igbaja communities to continue to support their monarchs in order to achieve more for the people of the state.
