Kwara Governor Congratulates President-Elect At 71

Date: 2023-03-30

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has congratulated Nigeria's President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his family on his 71st birthday anniversary.

In a congratulatory message, Governor AbdulRazaq described Asiwaju Tinubu as a man of destiny whose life exemplifies excellence, hard work, patriotism, resilience, tolerance, and team spirit.

“With God's mercies, it is no surprise therefore that the President-Elect has gone so far in life and proven many bookmakers wrong.

“As Nigeria's President-elect, I pray Almighty Allah to grant Asiwaju the good health, protection, and the grace to succeed at the most important job of captaining the ship of the Nigerian state to greater heights.”

In a similar congratulatory message, the Senator representing Kwara Central and Chairman, of the Senate Committee on Health, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe joined well-wishers across the country and beyond to felicitate the President-Elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his 71st birthday.

The lawmaker in a congratulatory message made available to newsmen, described the National Leader of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress and former Lagos State Governor as a man of clear vision with a knack for excellence and who will never settle for less in everyone of his endeavours.

Oloriegbe also explained further that whomsoever aims to be like Tinubu must possess some essential virtues which stand the third republic lawmaker out of his contemporaries, and they are: character, competence, capacity, capability, comportment, confidence, compassion and conscience.

“This year's birthday is very significant in the life and journey of our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as it will usher him very soon into the seat of power as the President of Africa's most populous nation.

“That the president-elect is a man of clear vision with a knack for excellence and will never settle for less in his endeavours is a statement of fact that can never be contested. He has demonstrated that as a private citizen and later as a public servant of many decades from legislative to executive and party politics as a leader and manager of men.

“His transformational leadership in Lagos State has become a model for every pragmatic leader to study and replicate. Jagaban is a man who derives joy in building towers from the scratch and turns nothing into something with significance.

“Thus, whoever aims to be like Asiwaju must have admirable character; administrative competence, capacity and capability; comportment in dealing with people of diverse backgrounds; confidence in service delivery; compassion for people; and moral conscience to guide one's conduct. These are virtues that stand Asiwaju out amongst his contemporaries”.

“I pray to God almighty to endow him with more wisdom and strength to serve the country diligently as he takes over the mantle of leadership in a very few months.“ He added.

Local Government Elections

Meanwhile, in preparations for the local government elections in Kwara State, Governor AbdulRazaq submitted to the State House of Assembly seven nominees for the board of the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC).

This is contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Rafiu Ajakaye.

“Having now cleared all legal logjams on its way, the process for the conduct of the local government election has begun. This begins with the immediate constitution of the KWSIEC board once the nominees have been confirmed by the parliament.”

According to him, this will be followed earnestly by other steps already stipulated in the law, including notice of election.
