Hijrah To Kwara: Ignore Distractions On Hijab
The Hijrah Organisation of Nigeria has charged Nigerians, especially the Muslim community, to have a change of attitude towards the next general election by coming out to vote massively.
The organisation stated this in a communique jointly signed by its chairman, Prof. Lanre Yusuf Badmas and the secretary, Malam Abubakar Imam, after a meeting at its national headquarters, Ilorin.
The body advised that Muslims and Nigerians should make the best use of their Permanent Voter's Card (PVC) during elections.
On the issue of hijab, the organisation said while the government had demonstrated an uncommon understanding in the area of hijab usage in the state's schools, it however urged them to continue to toe the right path and not mind distractions from some quarters in the state on the issue.
“Acquiring PVC and voting is your civic right and failure not to will deny you of such right anytime as Muslims and Islamic bodies.
“The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) should allow the continued use of the old currency together with the new currency by extending the deadline for the use of the old notes.
“President Muhammadu Buhari, who is described as the father of the nation should use his fatherly compassion in addressing the lingering crises in the nation's institutions across the country,” the communique added.
