The Kwara Government has ordered contractors handling rural road projects in the state to complete them by the first week of December.

The state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Dr Amuda Kannike, gave the order on Tuesday in llorin while inspecting some of the ongoing rural road projects.

Kannike, who was accompanied on the inspection tour by Resident Engineers of the ministry, expressed displeasure over what he described as the slow pace of the jobs.

He directed the contractors to redouble their efforts so that the projects could be delivered on schedule.

The commissioner urged the contractors to execute their jobs in line with specifications and the required standard.

Kannike advised the contractors to construct solid drainages to avert flooding.

He reaffirmed the determination of the state government to ensure that feeder roads in the state were motorable.

The commissioner inspected over six rural road projects during the visit. (NAN)
