Biffo explains Dele Aiyenugba's absence from Kwara United

Date: 2021-06-10

Coach Abdullahi Biffo of Kwara United says veteran goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba could make a return to the team for the midweek fixture against FC Ifeanyi Uba.

Aiyenugba missed Kwara United's last two matches, including the 3-0 victory over Jigawa Golden Stars last Sunday in Ilorin.

The veteran shot-stopper was last in goal for the 1-1 home draw against Rivers United, where his error led to Rivers United's goal.

Biffo said the decision to leave him was for the best of the team and he admitted the former Enyimba international man needs a rest after playing 20 straight matches.

"Football is all about mistakes. If a goalkeeper doesn't make mistakes that means he may not need a coach, so the same thing applies to footballers" the former Katsina United Boss said while stating reasons Dele Aiyenugba has not been featured in the last two games.

"Dele kept almost 20 straight games, so I think he needs a rest and that's why we gave him a two weeks rest. He might likely return in the next away game or so. It depends on how we see him in training" he remarked as he explained the basis of fair judgment in engaging their four goalkeepers." He said.
