Kwara United ends three game winless run with thrashing of Jigawa Golden Stars

Date: 2021-06-08

Kwara United secured an emphatic 3-0 victory over Jigawa Golden Stars in one of the NPFL matchday 25 at the Kwara Stadium Complex in Ilorin on Sunday.

The victory ended the Harmony Boys' three winless games and rekindled their hope of fighting for a place in the top four.

Afeez Nosiru opened the floodgate with his trademark long-range striker in the 23rd minute.

Kwara United got their second of the game in the 48th minutes of the encounter when former Flying Eagles striker Wasiu Alalade's acrobatic efforts ended up in the back of the net.

Alalade completed his brace with six minutes left in the game when he connected Farayola's to slot home the ball.

Kwara United have now moved to third position on the log with 43 points- a point adrift second-placed team Akwa United and 5 points behind leaders Kano Pillars.
