The Kwara Chapter Of The Muslim Media Practitioners Of Nigeria (mmpn) Has Condoled With The Family Of The Editor Of New Telegraph Newspaper, Waheed Bakare. The Association Also Commiserated With The Nigeria Union Of Journalists (nuj), Nigeria Guild Of Editors (nge) And Members Of The Mmpn Over The Demise Of Bakare.

MMPN Coordinator, Alhaji Yusuf Abdulrazaq-Laaro, in a statement on Wednesday in Ilorin, said the association received the news of Bakare's death with shock.

He said that the death of Bakare had created an unimaginable vacuum among Muslim media practitioners that would be difficult to fill.

The association, he added, was deeply saddened by the demise of Bakare but only took solace in the fact that "death is an inevitable end of all mortals."

Abdulrazaq-Laaro said the late Bakare was a devout Muslim who served Islam as a journalist and deployed his media services greatly for a robust media outreach for notable Muslim organisations.

"Brother Bakare was until his death the Saturday Editor of the New Telegraph Newspaper and member of the Media Committee of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), among others.

"Kwara MMPN beseeches Allah to overlook the transgressions of the late Abdulwaheed Bakare and grant him Aljanah fridaus,'he said.

He also prayed Almighty Allah to comfort his family as well as grant his wife and children the fortitude to bear the loss.
