Saraki Donates Relief Materials to Flood Victims

The chairman, Senate committee on Ecology and Environment, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has donated food items and relief materials worth millions of naira to the victims of flood disaster in Edu and Patigi Local Government Areas of Kwara State.

Saraki said he made the personal donation to cushion the effects of the flood on the victims and assured that both the state and federal governments would soon make their own donations to the victims, adding that the donation is firstly, to share the grief with the people whose farm lands were affected by the flood and expressed sorrow and sadness over the incident.

Saraki who was represented by his Special Adviser on political matters, Alh. Yunus AbdulRahman, assured the people of the affected communities of his preparedness to champion efforts to ensure that permanent solution is found to curtail the incessant flooding problem.

He added, "I appreciate the people for the love and support extended to me during my tenure as the governor of the state. I see myself as part and parcel of your community. This occasion is a demonstration of my love for the royal stools and people of these communities".

 "I share in your grief in this period of great loss which accounts for this gesture. I can assure you that the state and federal governments will turn in their relief materials. But more importantly, legislative steps will be taken to ensure that necessary machinery is put in place to permanently solve the problem".
