Ex-Labour Party guber candidate urges Kwarans to vote for Buhari

Date: 2019-02-14

A former governorship candidate of Labour Party in Kwara State, Dr Mike Omotosho, has urged the people of the state to exercise their franchise in the first round of general elections on Saturday devoid of fear or intimidation.

Omotosho specifically admonished the prospective voters to troop out en mass and vote for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari, in the poll.

In a statement issued, a copy of which was made available to Journalists in Ilorin, the erstwhile labour party gubernatorial candidate said the people of Kwara cannot afford to go against the popular will of Nigerians to return Buhari for second term in office.

Omotosho called on the voting populace in the state not to fall for the antics of certain politicians, who refused to key into the vision of the APC Presidential hopeful of returning the country on the path of progress.

He noted that the achievements of Buhari on the three prongs of his administration, which include security, economy and fighting corruption, had endeared him to the hearts of many Nigerians, especially the downtrodden, saying that he would consolidate on the gains recorded if re-elected.

Omotosho, who is also the National Chairman of Labour Party, noted that the party adopted the APC presidential candidate as its consensus candidate on account of his modest achievements in governance and had promised to halve rise 16million votes from its teeming supporters of Labour across the country.

The former labour party gubernatorial candidate stated further that the federal government had executed laudable projects in Kwara State including Ilorin/Jebba/Mokwa road that were hitherto abandoned.

He appealed to the people to reciprocate the good governance, which President Buhari epitomizes in order to fast track development of the nation.

"The first round of general elections coming up on Saturday provides an opportunity for Kwarans to exhibit their love for President Muhammadu Buhari. They should all go out en mass and vote for continuity in governance, which Buhari typifies.

"If we look back, one can say with every sense of responsibility that the federal government under Buhari has given life to governance, particularly with swift execution and completion of projects that were left with reckless abandon.

"Our pubic officers now handle public funds with tremendous caution in awe of President Buhari's anti-corruption policy, and the single treasury concept is also a framework for speedy consolidation towards economic recovery", Omotosho concluded.
