Buhari not fighting corruption – Anglican bishop

Date: 2018-10-27

The Diocesan Bishop, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Diocese of Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Rt.-Revd. Philip Adeyemo, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is not fighting corruption but that he has been launching a witch-hunt against the opposition.

In an interview with our correspondent in Ilorin on Friday, during the third synod of the diocese in Omu-Aran, he said, "What the APC government is doing is a witch-hunt; they are not fighting corruption.

"What we see now is if you want cover and you do not want the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to waylay you, you go to APC and then you are covered and you have become a clean man. That is not the way to fight corruption. By my assessment, the ruling party is even worse than the other party (Peoples Democratic Party) before them which we crucified."
