The Kwara State House of Assembly has commended the State Bureau of Land for attaining 98% of its revenue projection this year.

The Deputy Speaker, Elder Mathew Okedare, made the commendation during the on going Ministerial Budget Defence of Bureau of Lands before the House Committee on Land, Housing and Urban Development.

Elder Okedare noted with delight that the Bureau of Land had realised the sum of N1.402m out of N1.526m projected for the outgoing year.

In his remark, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon Adamu Usman urged the Office of the State Head of Service to provide at least 4 operational vehicles for the Bureau to enable it overcome its operational challenges in the task of improving the Internally Generated Revenue of the State.

Hon Adamu enjoined the Bureau to be more proactive in the task of making the state less dependant on Federation Account for survival.

Meanwhile, the Committee has directed the State Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to re -present its budget on Thursday, due to conflicting figure in its capital projects in the 2018 budget.

Similarly, the House Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, has enjoined the Ministry in charged of Community Development to ensure collaboration with other MDAs in the area of registration by Associations for community development projects to meet its revenue projection.

The House Committee however,expressed delight over budgetary allocation for renovation of palaces of first class traditional Rulers in the State.
