A socio-political group under the auspices of Youth Emancipation in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State, has pledged its total support for the candidature of Hajia Risikat Maliq Opakunle in the forthcoming local government elections.
The group, made this known at the palace of Alaboto of Aboto-Oja, Alhaji Kasali Yakub last week during meeting with the political leaders in Ila-Oja and Aboto/Odo-Ode wards.
Speaking on behalf of the youths, Mr. Ismaila Busari assured the leadership of the party in the area of their readiness to vote massively for APC chairmanship candidate in Asa LG, Hajia Risikat Maliki Opakunle in November 18 local government elections.
He also said all the APC councillorship candidates would be victorious in the much awaited local government elections.
Busari commended the APC leadership for its choice of Hajia Opakunle, whom he described as kind hearted woman, stressing that they would not disappoint the party leadership in the state.
Responding, Alhaji Sa'ad Ajelanwa thanked them for their preparedness to ensure the success of the party in the council.
In his remarks, Hon. Isiaka Mogaji commended the youths for their forthrightness and assured them that Opakunle Administration will carry them along in the scheme of things.
The APC chairmanship candidate in the area, Hajia Risikat Opakunle lauded the initiative of the youths for sharing a common idea in the interest of the area.
In his brief remark, the Alaboto of Aboto- Oja, Alhaji Yakub commended the youths for their preparedness to give their support to the candidature of Hajia Risikat Opakunle.
Responding, Hajia Opakunle thanked the youths, numbering 150, adding that she would not disappoint them.
The Kwara South Senatorial Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Jimoh Balogun has expressed confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will repeat the 2015 feat by sweeping all the 193 councillorship and 16 Chairmanship available seats in the forthcoming council election slated for November 18.
Balogun made the disclosure at the official campaign flag-off of the party's flag bearer in Ekiti local government, Comrade Yinka Dallas, stressing that with the calibre of candidates flying the party's ticket, the election is a "walkover".
Balogun however used the opportunity to enjoin the party faithful to disregard the seeming unpreparedness of the opposition parties, stressing that the election will help confirm for the umpteenth time Saraki family as unbeatable.
Speaking in the same vein, the leader of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti LG, Hon. Ebun Owolabi enjoined the electorate especially the youths to come out en mass and stand by one of their own.
She said: "Yinka Dallas is an household name who needs little or no introduction, I am rest assured that the youths will stand by one of their own.
"Dallas's ticket has shown that our leader, Dr. Bukola Saraki is an all round leader who cares for the youth, women, aged and all and sundry" she added.
In his remarks, Commissioner for Environment and Forestry, Otunba Taiwo Joseph however used the opportunity to solicit the support and prayers of Kwarans for the State government, adding that the government is committed to improving the plight of the people in all ramifications.
Some of the prominent dignitaries that graced the flag-off includes Hon. Cecilia Ore; Political Assistant on Political Matters to the Governor, Hon. Lekan Alabi; Hon Akintoba Fatigun, Hon Leke Ogungbe, Hon C.T Ayeni, Amb. Abdulfatai Yayaha Seriki-Gambari, APC candidates from Ifelodun, Isin, Irepodun, Offa, Oyun, Moro, Ilorin East and Ilorin West, market women, artisans, Nollywood actors led by Don Richards, leadership of NANS , NATO, NURTW, among others too numerous to mention.
