Kwara South Youths pass vote of confidence on Gov Ahmed
Kwara South Youth Stakeholders Forum has passed a vote of confidence on the administration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of the state in his quest to deliver on the mandate entrusted with him by the people of the state.
The forum, a political group under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), said it was throwing its weight behind the Governor due to utmost peace, stability and prosperity his government had brought to the state despite the precarious economic situation that had incapacitated most of the states in the country.
This was contained in a statement issued in Ilorin yesterday and signed by the forum's Chairman and Secretary, Comrade Tajudeen Lawal and Engineer Olatomiwa Kolawole respectively.
The forum said it was unusual in the country for a second term Governor like Governor Ahmed to embark on many laudable projects such as Operation Light Up Kwara, Geri Alimi Underpass, SME, the agricultural revolution and the ongoing multi-billion naira campuses of Kwara State University both in Kwara South and Kwara North in a time like this.
It pointed out that the Governor had impacted positively in various spheres of governance including education, women and youth affairs, workers welfare among others, which it added, have direct bearing on the lives of the downtrodden.
The forum called on Kwarans and well meaning people to pray fervently for continued peace and stability of the State and the country as a whole.
"We have watched with keen interest the state of the nation and the governance in Kwara State under the amiable Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed. Despite the present economic conditions of Nigeria and insecurity in most states of the federation, we are bold to hail Dr Ahmed's commendable efforts in ensuring utmost peace, stability and prosperity in Kwara State.
"We are therefore urging the able governor to maintain such laudable tempo for the sustenance of peaceful co-existence among the entire people of the state in furtherance to his ongoing development strategy across the state.
"It is equally amazing to note that it's unusual of any second term Governor in Nigeria with just two years in office to still be embarking on many laudable projects as Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed is doing projects such as Operation Light Up Kwara, Geri Alimi Underpass, SME, The Agricultural Revolution, Sango/UITH Road and many more ongoing projects both in Kwara South and Kwara North apart from multi-billion naira KWASU Campuses.
"Without mincing words, the Governor has impacted positively in various spheres that include education, women and youth affairs, workers welfare among others. We are convinced that the projects are tangible and people-oriented.
"We, as patriotic Kwarans, urge the people to deeply pray for continuous peace and stability of Kwara State as well as Nigeria in general. It is on this basis that the entire youths in Kwara South deem it fit to pass a vote of confidence on Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and his entire cabinet", the Kwara South Youth Stakeholders Forum said.
