Flying Eagles Arrive in Ilorin

Date: 2012-08-03

Nigeria's Flying Eagles arrived in Ilorin Thursday morning ahead of their African Youth Championship second round, second leg match in the Kwara State capital on Sunday.

The Nigeria U20s touched down at the Ilorin Airport at about 8am after a 45-minute flight from Lagos and were warmly received by Kwara officials led by FA chairman Busari Sola.

They are booked at the comfortable Bovina Hotel.

The team plan to have their first training in Ilorin Thursday evening inside the Ilorin Township Stadium.

They are billed to play two warm-up games before their return leg clash against the Ngorogoro Heroes of Tanzania.

They take on Federation Cup surprise team Prime FC of Osogbo on Sunday at the Ilorin Stadium and on Tuesday they battle local darlings Kwara United in a final test game.

Nigeria defeated Tanzania 2-1 in the first leg clash in Dar es Salaam with a brace by Enugu Rangers striker Alhaji Gero.
