Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has appointed Alhaji Adebayo Aliyu as the new most senior Balogun of Ilorin Emirate Council.

The appointee is the Balogun Gambari of Ilorin and his appointment followed the demise of the former senior Balogun and Balogun Fulani of Ilorin, Alhaji Mahmud Atiku.

A delegation from Balogun Gambari community was in the Emir's Palace in Ilorin yesterday on a thank you visit. Speaking at the event, Sulu-Gambari urged Nigerians to continue to live together peacefully irrespective of religious and ethnicity affiliation.

He debunked insinuations that Fulani herdsmen were responsible for the destruction of lives and property in some part of the country. He maintained that the "Fulani are peaceful, lovable and honest in their dealings with other tribes." Sulu-Gambari counselled Nigerians to always assess issues in their normal form and desist from making controversial statements capable of causing disharmony in the country.
