Kwara State House of Assembly has asked Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to provide funds for the state's Town Planning and Development Authority (TPDA) to enable it carry out its resolutions.

This was part of the resolutions of the legislature at its resumption of second legislative session of the house shortly after the chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee on Proliferation of filling stations in residential areas in Ilorin Metropolis, Kamaldeen Fagbemi, briefed the house on level of compliance with the resolutions of the house in respect of the demolition of petrol stations.

The House had at its last sitting, ordered that six petrol stations constructed in residential areas be demolished to prevent unnecessary loss of lives and property.

The House had also urged the state governor to order the sealing off of Atinuke Filling Station at Osere in Saw Mill Area within 48 hours for allegedly contravening the resolution of the House.

Reading the resolutions, the Speaker Dr. Ali Ahmad, explained that the resolutions of the House were in the interest of the public, warning that the Assembly would not condone a situation where the state would be lawless.
