The Last Time I Saw My Son,' Mother of Missing Kwara Doctor
Alhaja Adeyi retired from University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital last year. She has remained un-consolable since her son got missing. She has been praying without ceasing ever since she was informed of his son's 'disappearance' last week. Abdulkareem Tunde was reported missing last Tuesday by his elder brother.
Speaking with WESTERN POST Kwara State correspondent at her No 11, Sawmill Olorunsogo residence in Ilorin on Monday, Alhaja Adeyi said she was just informed last week Tuesday as she had been separated from her husband, Tunde's father for some time now. The grieving mother of the missing doctor said various individuals and religious bodies have joined her in praying for safe return of her son. "I have been praying ceaselessly since I was informed because there is no other thing I could do than pray for his discovery and return. Various religious bodies too have joined me in praying for him to be found, I have been going from one praying place to another. I was initially advised to stay back at home so people like you who are coming to empathize with me can meet me at home. "I was just informed on Tuesday last week. I was called on the phone by his elder brother from Lagos, who told me to go to the General Hospital, Ilorin and I ask about what was happening there. Then, he said they have not told me that Tunde has been missing and his doctor colleagues are there wanting to see me since his father is not in Ilorin. He resides in Abuja "Getting to the hospital, I saw an ambulance of Omu-aran General Hospital. Then I started asking myself if my son had a road accident and was admitted there because he just bought a Toyota Corolla, which he drove in when I saw him last. The doctors I met greeted me and asked if I was Doctor Abdulkareem's mother and I said yes. "Then, they said he was at work on July 26th and they conducted ward round with him after which he came down to Ilorin and that the Hausa maigard in his residence said he drove out on Saturday without altering a word or greeting to anybody because he wound up the vehicles window and and he has not seen him since then." Alhaja Adeyi said all efforts made to trace his whereabouts by trailing his last call from his call-log and social media chats as his Black Berry Messenger phone was still active are yet to yield any dividend. "His elder brother Ridwan who has a merit award in Information Technology from London has been working with the policemen as his GSM service provider was checking through his last call-log and social media chats," she added.
