Call Giwa to order - SWAN tells Minister
Sports journalists in Nigeria have tasked the Minister of Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung to call Chris Giwa group to order so as to put a stop to the lingering crisis bedevilling the administration of football in the country.
Rising from its emergency full council meeting in Ilorin, Kwara state on Saturday April 30, 2016 SWAN condemned the days action of the Chris Giwa group and called on the Sports Minister to take a decisive step to put an immediate end to what they termed as "national embarrassment."
The 8-point communique also advised all stakeholders in sports to eschew personal aggrandizement and allow for the development of sports in the country especially during this Olympic year SWAN also called on the sports ministry and the Nigeria Olympic Committee to "ensure proper and adequate preparation for Team Nigeria's successful participation at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games to avoid a repeat of the 2012 disastrous participation in London" The council also inaugurated a 7-Man electoral committee headed by Yusuf Isa to conduct election for the next National Executive Committee within 90
