Police declare 118 suspected cultists wanted in Kwara

Kwara State Police Command has declared 118 suspected cultists wanted and reiterated its commitments to flushing criminalities from the state.

It stressed that perpetrators of the dastard acts should relocate with immediate effect or face the full wrath of the law.

The Commissioner of Police, Sam Okaula, stated this in Ilorin while parading some suspected armed robbers and cultists at the command’s headquarters on Thursday.

The command also disclosed that about 118 suspected cultists have been declared wanted in the state and urged members of the public to assist the command with useful information that can lead to their arrest.

About 16 suspects namely: Oguniyi Ayoola, Adebisi Adedokun, Kadiri Abubakar, Ifesuo Chukwu, Dauda Muritala, Taiwo Mohammed Azeez Adelodun, Ibrahim Nurudeen, Abubakar Gafar, Ismaila Nurudeen, Habeeb Adams, Ganiyu Taiwo , Bushura Ibrahim, Jidde Kolawole, Suleman Quadri and Rasheed Idiagbon were arrested by the police for different offences such as attempted kidnap, house-breaking and theft, armed robbery, secret cult membership, among others.

While briefing journalists, the police boss said, “One Opekun David Kolawole, Principal of ECWA Secondary School Igbaja, brought a complain of criminal intimidation and attempted kidnap against Oguniyi Ayoola with different phone numbers to kill if he refuses to pay a ransom of N 2million to one UBA Account.

“His failure to comply made the suspect to direct the victim to take the said amount to a bush path in Oro. On the receipt of the information, security cordon was spread around the location the suspect was waiting to collect the ransom where he was arrested; he confessed to the crime and he will soon appear in court.”

Okaula stated further that, “At about 1000hrs, one Soji Odetunde of Adewole Area reported at D’ Division that he discovered that money has been missing in his wardrobe at home without any breakage. He suspected his cousin, one Adebisi Adedokun, living with him who ran to Lagos.
