ABS FC GENERAL MANAGER ASSURES TORNADOES OF SUPPORT
Nigerian players have been assured of good welfare packages in the 2015/2016 season, as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), League Management Company (LMC) and the Club Owners expresses worry over the plight of some players and teams in the just concluded season.
While addressing the players and officials of Niger Tornadoes, who are camping in Ilorin ahead of the season at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex on Saturday,General Manager of ABS FC Alloy Chukwuemeka, who is the Acting Secretary of the Club Owners Association said the poor welfare system by few clubs for players nearly overshadowed the successes recorded by LMC in the organization of the league last season .
It would be recalled that players and officials of clubs like Warri Wolves, El-Kanemi, Dolphins and FC Taraba had running battles with their teams on issues of salaries and allowances, with FC Taraba the worst hit.
He said that the LMC under the Leadership of Mallam Shehu Dikko was working on making the league better for the players and coaches, whom he said were the pivot upon which the system is revolving, and they must be adequately remunerated for the sacrifice they are making.
Chukwuemeka congratulated Niger Tornadoes for gaining promotion to the Premier League, welcomed them to Ilorin and charged them to prepare well for the NPFL.
He assured the team of total support, especially as they plan to adopt Ilorin as their new home, recalling that ABS FC enjoyed the same support from people and government of Niger state when they adopted Bako Kontagora stadium Minna Niger state as their home ground some years back.
As a mark of appreciation and to reciprocate the good gesture enjoyed by ABS FC when they were home in Minna, Chukwuemeka on behalf of his Club donated 200 bags of water to the Niger Tornadoes team for use during their trainings.
He charged the players to be disciplined and take advantage of the conducive atmosphere of the State of Harmony kwara and the good facilities in the state, even as he commended Coach Abdullahi Biffo, whom he described as honest and hardworking manager.
Earlier in his speech, the coach of the side, Abdullahi Biffo appreciated the people and government of Kwara state for their support, and Chukwuemeka for his support and concern.
