Lawmaker Urges Judiciary to Resist Interference

Date: 2015-11-10

Moshood Olanrewaju Bakare, the member representing Omupo Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, has cautioned the judiciary against manipulation of judgments.

He also urged the judiciary to resist interference by external forces, especially in respect of the ongoing trial of the Senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

Bakare said the temple of justice remained the last hope of the common man, and should not be sacrificed on the altar of politics.

He spoke in Ilorin, against the backdrop of last Thursday's withdrawal by Saraki's counsels at the tribunal.
