2015 Kwara Principal's Cup gets dates
The finals of the 10th Kwara State All-Secondary Schools' football competition has been scheduled to hold from Oct. 25 to Oct. 29.
The State Coordinator of the Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF), Moshood Lateef, told newsmen on Thursday in Ilorin that the competition would be staged at the main bowl of the Kwara Mini Stadium.
According to him, the preliminaries of the competition would be played at all the eight zones before end of September.
Lateef said that at the end of the preliminaries, each of the zones would produce a qualifier each. The zones are Ilorin A and B, Ilorin West, Offa, Omu-Aran, Share, Edu and Kaiama.
He said that the eight qualifiers would be kitted, accommodated and fed throughout the finals in Ilorin.
Meanwhile, the NSSF has warned schools and their sports officers against the use of mercenaries during the competition. "The competition is purely a developmental programme for U-17 boys.
"Let me warn against the registration of Senior Secondary III students for the competition. All secondary schools in Kwara, public and private, are eligible to participate in the competition".
The event is being sponsored by an oil servicing company, Lubcon Limited. (NAN)
