Saraki's counsels not a threat - Abdulrasak

Date: 2015-09-07

Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrasak, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in March 28 senatorial election, now challenging his defeat at the election petitions tribunal, says he was not intimidated by the calibre of lawyers showcased by Senator Bukola Saraki, the president of the Senate.

Saraki won the Kwara Central senatorial seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), but Abdulrasak is challenging his victory at the tribunal.

Speaking through Oloyin Lateef Adebayo, his principal personal assistant, after the adoption of written address by his counsel, Abdulrasak said he, however, that he believed in the integrity of the judiciary.

He said: "Can you imagine, they (defendants) went ahead and declared a winner on the 28 of March when the collation was still ongoing till 29th. All these exhibits have been taken in the court and we believe that the court is going to do justice.

"We are not intimidated because we believe in substance and facts that will justify our case at the tribunal."
