Kwara House gets new principal officers

A change of leadership was today announced on the floor of the Kwara State House of Assembly. The new majority leader is Abdulganiyu Abdulkareem of (Share/Oke-Ode). He replaces Dr. Ibrahim Asaholu (Oke-Ero). Alhaji Saadu Tanke (Ilorin South) is the new deputy majority leader and he replaces Hon. Fatai Salman (Ilorin West). Alhaji Saidu Lima (Edu) is the new chief whip, he replaces Alhaji Iliasu Ibrahim (Oloru/ Ipaye), the petitioner. The deputy chief whip, Hon Sakirat Anako (Oke-Ogun), remained unchanged.

According to reliable sources, the changes are not unconnected to the former chief whips's petition against the Speaker, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Atunwa. The speaker was cleared of all the allegations.
