Ogundokun rallies support for Saraki
A leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN), Chief Abiola Ogundokun, has rallied support for the aspiration of the former Kwara State Governor Bukola Saraki to become the next Senate President.
In a statement made available to Saturday Sun yesterday, Ogundokun said Saraki has a towering qualifications for the post among other contestants in view of his past track records in both private and public service.
He particularly referred to how Senator Saraki was able to hold the people of Kwara together and lead the state for two terms of eight years as governor after parading a formidable professional experience in the nation's banking industry.
Ogundokun also said the upper chamber of the National Assembly needed Saraki's political exposure and maturity to bring members with diverse aspirations for their various constituents together in the over all interest of the nation.
According to him: "Senator Bukola Saraki is tested, trusted and reliable. He has proved his capability in public service by showing tremendous capacity in building on his late father's legacies.
"The leadership of Bukola Saraki will not only help to stabilize and create much more support for the president-elect Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Bukola is an asset for national unity because of his national unity acceptance as apostle of politics without bitterness.
"He laid a good foundation for the All Progressives Congress campaign rallies with the debut holding in Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State. The rally was a huge success. He threw all he had into it to ensure the party holds a firm grip on the state."
Ogundokun described Saraki as a political bridge builder, working with other APC leaders with openness and sincerity to ensure all Geo-political zones are united and in peace for rapid national development and growth.
