Kwara Utd. coach aims to topple Pillars
Head coach of Kwara United, Tunde Sanni is positive his wards will play the game of their lives against visiting Kano Pillars in an NPL matchday 27 fixture at the Ilorin Township Stadium this Saturday.
United have suffered back-to-back defeat against rivals, ABS and at Kaduna United on NPL matchdays 25 and 26 respectively.
On the other hand, Pillars were impressive in their last two NPL games as the Sai Maisugida Boys got a 2-2 draw at six-time champions, Enyimba on Matchday 25 before coming back home to beat NPL leaders, Enugu Rangers 2-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofarmata in Kano.
But Sanni is confident that there would be no room for mercy against Pillars in Ilorin on Saturday.
The 50-year-old former 3SC attacker added that it would be disastrous to lose three games consecutively.
"It would be a slap on me if I lose the third game which will be against Kano Pillars. It's a must-win game for us and our fans who are not happy with us," Sanni told SuperSport.com.
Reacting to the seven players thrown out by the club's chairman, Alhaji Toyin Olokoba after United's 0-1 shock home loss against rivals, ABS on Matchday 25 in Ilorin.
Sanni told SuperSport.com that the chairman's action was made out of annoyance stressing that some of the axed players would return to United's squad as soon as possible.
"I was in Abuja and my boss was angry with my boys' performance against ABS, but it has been resolved and some of them will join us back," he said.
Sanni also confirmed to SuperSport.com that United will miss the service of striker Kabiru Sanusi and defender, Muritala Adekunle against Pillars as the duo are out injured.
Kwara United currently occupy 14th on the NPL standings on 31 points.
