Gov Ahmed cautions Kwarans over alleged sale of PVCs
Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has cautioned eligible voters in the state against selling their permanent voters' cards (PVCs) to desperate politicians.
Governor Ahmed made the call in Banni Kaiama Local Government Area of the state while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after completion of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign tour of the local government area.
The governor, who described the PVCs as the only weapon the electorate could use to elect leaders of their choice, warned the people of the state not to allow any politician to disenfranchise them in whatever guise, saying what Nigerians were yearning to see was change of maladministration in all sectors of the nation's economy.
He praised the people of Kwara North for leading in the collection of PVCs and urged the people of the state to vote wisely by voting for all APC candidates in the coming general elections.
He observed that his government within the last three and a half years had reconstructed Kaiama General Hospital, connected many communities in Kaiama to the national grid, provided potable water as well as constructed and renovated schools.
The governor, who expressed delight over the turnout of the people of Kaiama, urged them to be more vigilant before, during and after the polls to protect their votes against any possible manipulation by desperate politicians.
