'PDP waxes stronger in Kwara despite opposition's propaganda' - Olawoye
State Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Chief Rex Olawoye has declared that the party has continued to wax stronger, despite the campaign of disunity mounted by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
Olawoye made this known on Monday, in a press statement to counter a statement allegedly credited to the state chairman of the party, Chief Iyiola Oyedepo, that "Senator Gbemisola Saraki was free to leave PDP."
According to Olawoye, the publication in National Pilot was not only a propagation of falsehood against the chairman but also a failed attempt at causing disaffection among PDP stakeholders.
"Senator Gbemisola Saraki, one of our strong frontline aspirants and financier came into Ilorin, recently, with fun fare. No sooner did she arrive Ilorin than she indicated to journalists, her determination to remain and nurture PDP to success," Olawoye added.
He added that when Senator Gbemisola Saraki was away on holiday, she instructed all her supporters to remain in the party and participate actively in all activities of the party.
"The story betrays the hidden wishful thinking of the writer and systematic attempt to act their master's script," Olawoye said.
He stated that the party chairman has at many times lauded Senator Saraki for her support and exemplary leadership quality and noted that the said publication was a plot to cause disunity and division among PDP members ahead of the forthcoming general election.
