UNIFEMGA honours Matrix MD, 12 others in Ilorin

The Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association (UNIFEMGA)  will on Saturday  honour 13 of its members for their achievements and contributions to the development of the association.


In a statement issued by its National President, Prof. Abdulwahab Egbewole, said that the fifth in the series of the Honours’ day will hold in Ilorin, Kwara State capital on Saturday January 24.

 
Those to be honoured were the Managing Director of Matrix Energy Limiited, Alhaji Abdulkabir Aliu,  Prof. Abubakar Sanusi, Chief Imam of OAU Muslim Community and Prof of Medicine.

 

Others were Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Oyo State, Alhaji Babatunde Busari, Alhaji Ahmed Abdulkareem, retired, Accountant-General of Kwara State and nine Ph.D holders.

 

Egbewole said Alhaji Jamiu Afolayan , Managing Director,  Niger River Basin Authority would be the chairman of the occasion with Malam Yusuf Ali (SAN) as Chief Host.

 

A lecture entitled: ``Islam, Yesterday, Muslims today, what does tomorrow hold?

would be delivered by Dr Mahfouz Adedimeji, Director, Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ilorin.


Egbewole said the uniqueness of the UNIFEMGA Honours Day, was that those to be honoured were carefully selected and have excelled themselves in various fields of human endeavour.

He said the two –day event would also serve as a mini –reunion of members as there would be a National Executive Committee meeting (NEC) of the association on Friday night to be hosted by Malam Yusuf Ali (SAN) .


Since 2011 when the maiden edition of the National Honours’ Day started, 62 members had so far been honoured and rewarded for their landmark achievements and contributions to the Association.
