Kwara Utd set to name Sanni as coach
Strong indications have emerged that Tunde Sanni would return as the technical adviser/head coach of Kwara United, supersport.com can report.
Last week, all members of Kwara United technical crew were thrown out by the general manager, Haruna Ilerika who revealed that the Afonja Warriors need total restructuring.
No less than 10 coaches have now submitted their applications to the management of the Ilorin-based club who just returned to the Nigeria's top flight.
It has been a tradition at Kwara United that a coach would only be given a one-year contract in which such a coach could re-apply after the expiration of his one-year engagement.
A top source revealed to supersport.com that Sanni, who was at the helm of Kwara United three seasons ago, is now highly favoured to return as the technical adviser pending final endorsement from the government house.
"We have discovered that the club treated Tunde Sanni badly when he was at the helm, and we have decided to give him back the job.
"Sanni, is an experienced gaffer whose service would be highly appreciated this year, and only a last minute hitch could change what is on ground," the source revealed to supersport.com
Three seasons ago, Sanni guided the Afonja Warriors to sixth place in the Glo Premier League, but the then management rewarded him by showing him the exit door.
United engaged erstwhile Ocean Boys gaffer, Samson Unuanel and he was unlucky in his first stint as the club were relegated to the National League two seasons ago.
Kwara United have now returned to the Premier League amid controversy against Ranchers Bees.
The Afonja Warriors were given board room points in their last match of the season and edged out fellow Premier League seekers, Ranchers Bees.
