Kwara To Rehabilitate Water Works

The Kwara State Governor, Dr Bukola Saraki has approved the Sum of N88million For the rehabilitation of nine water works out of the 92 existing in the state.

The Commissioner for Water Resources, Alhaji Abubakar Amuda Kannike disclosed this while signing the contract agreement in Ilorin last Friday.

According to him the government was working on a water Project at Tsaragi, which will soon materialize

‘He urged the people of the state to continue to support the government, as the present administration is committed to the welfare of the people of the state.

"These water projects being embarked upon by our amiable Governor is to ensure that by the expiration of his tenure there is adequate potable water supply in every home in the state," he stated

The nine water works to be rehabilitated and upgraded are in kanbi, Zambufu, Orogan, Owodekekere, Ladeyo, Oro-Ago, Fufu, Arandun and Apado.

Speaking to the contractors the commissioner said the completion date for these projects is June, 30 except Oro-Ago, Fufu, Arandun and Apado, which must be completed earlier by the end of May.

He therefore, charged the contractors to provide quality jobs and keep to the agreement and date of completion of the projects.

Responding on behalf of the contractors, Engr.Matthew Akmola of Makin Nigeria Limited commended the present administration for its love for the people. He observed that water is life and therefore government is taking the right step by ensuring that people have access to potable water.

He promised that the contractors would deliver on schedule and eulogized the Governor for having the love of his people at heart.
