Kwara Speaker congratulates Governor Ahmed on second term ticket

Date: 2014-12-05

Following the victory of the governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed at the Kwara State APC governorship primary election, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Razak Atunwa has congratulated the governor, describing his victory as a reward for the numerous milestones recorded by the administration since 2011.

Atunwa made this known in a press release signed by his media office to congratulate the governor. He said the landslide victory of Ahmed at the primary election is an anticipated success based on the achievements recorded by the administration in the last three years.

"No doubt, Governor Ahmed has done enough to win the party's primary and bear the party's flag. In the area of job creation, we have seen thousands of Kwarans employed under the employment bridge scheme created by Governor Ahmed.

"The development in healthcare delivery is evident across the state, agricultural development, road construction to mention a few, are masses oriented projects executed by the governor which are enough to get a second term" he said.

According to him, "Kwarans have voted the achievements of Governor Ahmed and this shows the level of confidence the people have his leadership. "I call on Kwarans to support the governor with their votes come February 2015 because supporting him implies supporting change, more development in various spheres in Kwara among others" Atunwa commended the leadership and delegates of the Kwara State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress for the peaceful and violence free primary; while he urged them to exhibit such a high level of comportment in the forthcoming primaries.

In his message to Nigerians, Barr. Razak Atunwa urged Nigerians to be determined and resilient in their quest for a better nation.

"As we are approaching the 2015 general elections, I urge Nigerians across the country to be determined to embrace change across board, stand by their votes and ensure they are not deprived of their rights", he said.
