FERMA warns kwara residents against dumping refuse into drainage
ln a bid to maintain, sustain and to elongate the life span of Nigeria roads, the Kwara state chapter of Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) has called Kwara residents and Nigerians at large to desist from dumping refuse into drainage.
The Chief Engineer of the Agency, Mr Ige Babatunde, who revealed while speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, said the agency had awarded contract for the rehabilitation of 30 roads across the three senatorial districts of the state between January to September, 2014.
Babatunde who said the rehabilitation of the 30 roads was part of efforts to boost economic activities of state noted that most of the roads have been completed while finishing touches are being given to few others.
The FERMA boss explained that the rehabilitated Federal roads according to the Chief Engineer were llorin-Ajase-ipo road, Gbugbu- Patigi road, llorin -Ogbomosho road, Kaima -Wawa road amongst others.
The Chief Engineer expressed optimism that more federal roads will be rehabilitated in the state as soon as the Agency receive more funds.
