Re - Kwara APC slams Belgore: Mr. Buhari has seven days to apologise

Date: 2014-08-19

Our attention has been drawn to the reckless, wicked and baselessly malicious allegations by Kwara APC Spokesman Sulyman Buhari that M.D. Belgore SAN "hired thugs" to disrupt and inflict violence on Kwarans including a youth 'corper' at the recent distribution of permanent voter's card at Oke Ogun Ward in Ilorin South Local Government of Kwara State.

We note all his allegations in the said statement issued today August 19, 2014. We dismiss same as untrue, malicious and targeted at the hard-earned reputation of the senior advocate. We note that this statement is a deliberate act of character assassination as it ignored our earlier statement dissociating M.D. Belgore SAN from such indecent and unlawful conduct.

We therefore demand Mr Buhari and his party to immediately withdraw/retract this statement and tender an unreserved apology within seven days from today or face a legal action.

We are aware that Mr Buhari and his ilk believe 'all is fair' in politics including recklessly damaging people's reputation as he has done in his statement today. We do not see politics in this way and would therefore not watch while they unfairly impugn the integrity of the innocent. Again, Mr Buhari has seven days to retract his statement and tender an apology!

Signed:
Rafiu Ajakaye
Media aide to Mohammed Dele Belgore SAN.
