Kwara PDP elders call for free, fair primaries
Elders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State yesterday urged President Goodluck Jonathan and national leadership of the party to take a cue from Ekiti by conducting free, fair and credible primaries that would produce the next governorship candidate in the state.
The elders under the aegis of Kwara PDP Elders' Opinion Forum in a statement signed by its secretary, Engr. Yunusa Afolabi warned against imposition of candidates so as not to blight the chance of PDP in the forthcoming elections in the state.
The forum which commended Jonathan for appointing Dr Abubakar Sulaiman as minister for national planning assured the PDP leadership at both state and national levels of their unflinching support, describing the minister as "a loyal and firm supporter of our great party, the PDP."
