Kwara to Spend N200 Million On Oyun Water Works

The Kwara State government said it would spend N200 million on the repair of Oyun water works in Oyun local government area of the state.

The fund, according to the government, would be sourced from the bond of N20 billion it hopes to obtain in August.

The water works is serving four local governments - Oyun, Offa, Irepodun and Ifelodun.

The state's commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu, disclosed this during a town hall meeting held in Offa, Offa local government area of the state.

Banu said the state government had already expended N75 million on the water works.

The commissioner, however, appealed to the affected communities to exercise patience as the government was doing everything humanly possible to address the water shortage problem they have been experiencing over the years.

On the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Offa branch's cooperative society's crisis, he promised that the state government would find a lasting solution and take appropriate step on the matter.

Earlier, the state commissioner for Information and Communications, Prince Tunji Moronfoye, said the state governor, Alh. AbdulFatah Ahmed was committed to improving the civil servants welfare for effective service delivery.
