He spoke yesterday during a fidau in honour of the late Prof. of Education Psychology, Prof. Shehu Ahmad Jimoh, organised by Mustapha Akanbi Foundation founded by former Appeal Court President, Justice Mustapha Akanbi.

He said occurrences that were hitherto alien to the ancient Islamic city were now being witnessed, saying that “we need to purify this city.”

The scholar particularly expressed concern over rising cases of ritual killings in the state.

Cases of kidnapping and ritual activities had been rampant in recent times in parts of Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, even as suspected kidnappers had fallen victims of mob attack.

He admonished all stakeholders must do something urgent and fast to ensure that the house built and nurtured for years immemorial by the progenitors of Emirate was not soiled and destroyed.

Delivering his lecture, Oladosu who is also the Chief Imam of University of Ilorin extolled the virtues of Prof. Jimoh who was until his death, the coordinator, Council of Muslim Organisations (CMO) and chairman, Governing Board of the state Polytechnic.

Akanbi, in his address, recalled that he once told the deceased to organise a fidau for him, but as God would have it, the late Jimoh passed away before him, prompting his foundation to organise the prayer.
