Unilorin student wins UNESCO contest
Mr John Usman, A 200-Level Computer Science student of the University of Ilorin, has won the grand prize at a UNESCO contest, tagged "Pathways to a Culture of Peace''.
Mr Kunle Akogun, a Deputy Director in the University, said in a statement on Monday that the contest, which took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
He said that the contest was conducted on Dec. 3, 2013 and Usman's winning entry was a graphic design titled "The Nigeria of my Dream''.
"The contest, jointly organised by UNESCO, Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education and the King Abdulaziz National Centre for Dialogue (KANCD), brought together youths from over 30 countries,'' he said.
Akogun noted that the event was a gathering of positive-minded youth leaders from around the globe, who were impacting on their societies. (NAN)
