"Gang-up against Saraki will fail" - Aniba
Aniba, in an interview with The Herald On Sunday in Ilorin, said all opposition mounting against Saraki were mere light weight in the political history of the state.
He said, “For quite sometime now, we have perceived some people in the state pledging their support to the Bamanga Tukur led PDP but we are unperturbed. We know they have no stake in the politics of Kwara State.
“Baba Saraki has laid a sound political foundation in the state before his demise, and his son, Senator Bukola Saraki having been well tutored politically, has continued to provide quality leadership.
“It would be grossly unfair of anyone to turn against Saraki at this auspicious time when he needed every disciple to be loyal to him against his traducers.
“Although am not amazed by the antics of this faceless group, but I have to say it categorically that Saraki remains our leader in Kwara. And for sure, they will be coming back to take back seat, because before now they are irrelevant in the polity”, he said.
Aniba maintained that those associating with the old PDP were mere political jobbers, who are only interested in what they will get in the wake of the crisis in the ruling party.
Describing Senator Saraki as a God fearing man, the former chairmanship aspirant in Ilorin East Local Government, urged party faithful to discard old PDP and pledge their loyalty to the faction led by Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje.
Speaking on the recent primary election of PDP ahead of LG poll in the state, Aniba applauded the manner in which the primary was conducted, saying it reflected the wishes of the people.
He noted that he was not disturbed by the emergence of one of the contestants in the primary and said that he would remain a loyal member of the PDP.
The former aspirant commended Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed for initiating programmes that have true bearing on the lives of the people.
Aniba also described PDP under Hon Ishola Balogun-Fulani in the state as the authentic party and asked the people to be wary of impersonators.
