Kwara govt. unveils Lotus bank branch in Ilorin
The Kwara State Government has unveiled a branch of Lotus bank in Ilorin, the state capital.
ROYAL NEWS reports that it also advocated economic diversification with increased support for entrepreneurs, SMEs and private institutions that create jobs and give back to society.
The State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq made this appeal on Wednesday. He described the decision to locate the branch in Ilorin as quite strategic.
Represented by his Deputy, Mr. Kayode Alabi, the governor said that entrepreneurs must be treated as catalysts for social and economic development.
“This is so because Kwara is peaceful and our people are very hospitable.
“Furthermore, the strategic location of our state, the investment we have made to maintain peace and harmony, as well as our efforts to get critical infrastructure up and running, make Kwara the next investment haven in the country.
“In addition to reviving core facilities across the state, we are making bold investments in landmark projects like the Ilorin International Conference Center, the Dolby Studio-equipped Visual Arts Center, the Innovation Hub garment factory and access roads that would reduce travel time, among others. he said.
He expressed his gratitude to th3 bank for locating its first North Central branch in Ilorin.
The bank’s managing director and chief executive officer, Hajia Kafilat Araoye, said that Ilorin’s election is an expression of the desire to identify with the aspirations of both the government and the people of the state.
He assured that the bank is positioned to support the real economy, especially small and medium-sized companies.
