NLC Describes Kwara Govt. As Workers-Friendly

Date: 2012-04-13

The Chairman of the NLC in Kwara, Mr Farouq Akanbi, has  described the Abdulfatah Ahmed administration in the state as workers-friendly.

Akanbi told the newsmen in Ilorin on Friday that the state government was striving hard to boost the welfare of workers.

"The present administration is on the right track for  as you can see from inception;  it donated the NLC building in Ilorin," he said.

Akanbi, who  recalled the past struggles of the NLC  in the agitation for the rights of workers, expressed optimism that more opportunities would be available  with the  advent of the Ahmed administration.

Commending the governor for running  an "all-inclusive government  which associated with workers," Akanbi, however,  urged the administration  not to renege on its promise of  fully implementing the N18, 000 minimum wage.
