Date: 2021-04-30

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Thursday felicitated retired Major-General Olayemi Lasisi Abidoye on his 68th birthday anniversary, calling him one of Nigeria’s finest officers whose contributions to peacekeeping missions remain a reference point in global humanitarian circles.

In a statement in Ilorin, the state capital, the Governor commended the retired military top gun for bringing honour to the state through his illustrious military career and for his continuous commitment to community service and development after retirement.

“I join the rest of our state, especially the Omu Aran community, to celebrate retired Major-General Abidoye on this joyous occasion of his 68th birthday anniversary. Hardworking, disciplined, cerebral, and kindhearted, he has been a man of the people whose retirement is being spent in the service to humanity, especially the Omu-Aran community where he is currently the President of the popular Omu-Aran Development Association (ODA),” according to the statement.

“On behalf of the people and government of Kwara State, I felicitate the General, his immediate family and the entire Omu-Aran community under his Royal Highness the Olomu of Omu-Aran Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti on this occasion. I pray the Almighty God to grant the Liberian war veteran more rewarding years in good health.”
