The Shehu Alimi Islamic Foundation, (SAIF) has commended Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed over the establishment of the state’s Arabic Board and the appointment of a seven-man executive council, with Dr. AbdulKadir Oba-Solagberu as the pioneer Chairman.

The Foundation, in a statement issued by its National Secretary, Malam Abdulazeez Arowona, described it as a good omen for the growth of religious education in the state.

The governor had appointed Dr. Oba-Solagberu, Chairman (Ilorin-West) Alhaji Maisuna Yahya, Secretary (Ilorin East), Mallam Ally Bello, (Isin), Mallam Armiyahu Lukman, (Ilorin-South), Mallam Yusuf Sulaiman Al Gamawiy, (Ifelodun), Mallam Fatai Mohammed Jamiu, (Moro), and Mallam Yaqub Abdullah from Edu local area of the state.

The statement noted that Dr. Solagberu is a seasoned Islamic scholar of international repute, whose wealth of experience in the field of Arabic and Islamic Studies as well as his global connection will no doubt assist the newly established Board tremendously in the achievement of its goals.

The foundation however described. The Foundation also congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari and other traditional rulers in the state over the establishment of the board and expressed its optimism that the newly appointed Chairman and his team would justify the confidence reposed in them.
