MTN Project Fame West Africa Auditions 2,000 in Ilorin
About 2,000 participants recently took part at the audition for the MTN Project Fame West Africa Season Six, which took place in Ilorin, Kwara state capital.
The participants, according to newsmen checks, were mostly students of higher institutions in the state who had come to showcase their musical talents. The auditioning was the first stage of a rigorous screening and assessment of the musical prowess of the participants drawn from all states of the federation.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Anthonia Adeniyi of Altima Limited, the Producer of MTN Project Fame West Africa said, “The MTN Project Fame West Africa is a music reality show which aims at unearthing legends, superstars in music, and in the past five years now we have been in this.
“We have our stars like Iyanya, we have Mike, we have Chindima, we have Monica, we have Ayo and this our sixth season, we are looking forward to the legend that would grab the price. Project Fame has prizes for various people, not just the winner takes all. We have the first person, which is the winner who goes home with about N2.5million and a brand new Toyota Rav and a one-year recording contract worth about N7 million.”
“The second person takes N1.5 million with Toyota Corolla; we have the second Runner-up taking N1million with Toyota Yaris and then we have the third runner up taking N1million. Every other person who passes through the Academy also takes something”, Adeniyi stressed.
Some of the participants, who spoke to newsmen, bared their mind on the reality show which they described as interesting and challenging. Oluwaseye Oyinloye from Kwara state and a Unilorin student studying Microbiology said, “I'm here to showcase my talent. I can sing and I love singing. That's just it. This is an event to bring out the real you as in those talents that God has given unto you.”
